Career Aspiration

Aspiration is a broader sense of who we are and what we want to be. It is not a specific, time-sensitive target. Aspiration helps people to set out to achieve their purpose in life.

Career aspiration is the ‘end goal’ – it is what we aspire to in our working life. It establishes our personal standards and desires, ensuring that our career aligns with our personal goals, attributes and purpose.

COMPACT provides workshops that help people of all ages to understand what their career aspirations are to assist in setting career goals and developing career plans.

Workshops include the following important factors that affect career aspiration and can lead to individual achievement of the dream career.

  • Self-awareness
  • Recognition and identification of skills
  • Personal attributes
  • Social, Environmental, Creativity and Technology needs
  • Investigation of personal work requirements
  • Alignment personal skills and attributes with potential careers

COMPACT can customise workshops to engage Primary school age groups through to mature job seekers. These can be delivered as separate sessions or can complement other personal development workshops to meet your needs.

The 5 core Foundation Skills include:

  1. Learning
  2. Reading
  3. Writing
  4. Oral Communication
  5. Numeracy

Learning activities are project- based with strong focus on improving Employability Skills. Workshops can be customised to meet the needs of different target groups in both school and community settings.

Leadership Programs

COMPACT develops leadership workshops that build Employability Skills through youth driven, project-based activities in a community or school, enhancing key leadership attributes including:

Personal awareness and Self-Reflection, Effective Communication, Strategic Planning, Decision Making, Teamwork, Negotiation, Problem solving, Emotional Intelligence, Governance and Meeting skills, Project planning and Evaluation

Leadership skills are developed when young people are empowered to inspire and mobilise themselves and others towards a common purpose, in response to personal and/or social issues and challenges, to effect positive change.

COMPACT actively encourage young people to be drivers of innovation and entrepreneurship to help them become our business and community leaders of the future.

Workshops can be customised to respond to school needs.

Resilience Programs

Resilience is the ability to cope or bounce back after encountering negative events, difficult situations, challenges or adversity and to return to almost the same amount of emotional wellbeing. It is also the capacity to respond adaptively to difficult circumstances and still thrive (Benard 1996, Burns 1996, Fuller 1998, Luthar 2000, Johnson 2008.)

With poor resilience strategies to overcome adversity, many young people find it difficult to engage in education and employment, which may result in ongoing or amplified social issues and poor mental health.

COMPACT staff are trained, following a strengths based approach of The Resilience Doughnut © model to empower young people to develop resilience strategies to build self-confidence and increase engagement in learning and participating.

COMPACT will work with your school to develop a customised age appropriate program and format, focused on individual needs.

Enterprise Education

Enterprise education is a means to inspire people to use initiative, resourcefulness and other enterprising skills in the very way they learn.

Did you know that start-ups and entrepreneurs are a large contributor to new jobs and innovation in Australia? In fact, start-ups created 1.44 million jobs in our economy between 2006 and 2011.

“To be a more innovative country we need to encourage an entrepreneurial mindset at every level of education – starting in schools, continuing in higher study and enduring throughout working lives.”

(Colin Kinner, Director of Spike Innovation)
